Northup, Tammi Jo
Tammi Jo Northup, 47, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 12, at the Blairstown Legion Hall, with Gene Spicer officiating. Visitation also will be held at the Legion Hall from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Tammi was born April 6, 1966, in Cedar Rapids to Thomas Eugene and Dixie Rae (Newton) Kent, and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1984. On Feb. 25, 1989, she married Scott Northup at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Tammi enjoyed gardening, WWE Wrestling and the Green Bay Packers. Her greatest joy came from attending her son's sports events and time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Scott of Blairstown; children, Brittany Northup and Hunter Northup, both of Blairstown; parents, Dixie and Darrell Dellamuth of Blairstown and Thomas Kent of Belle Plaine; sisters, Trudey (Brian) Nekola of Tama and Dena (Christian) Shonts of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Nick (Christy) Dellamuth of Blairstown; eight nieces; two nephews; parents-in-law, Jim and Joyce Northup of Blairstown; brother-in-law, James Northup of Las Vegas; and sister-in-law, Cynthia (Martin) Noble of Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; two uncles, two aunts and a niece.
