Florence Lisette Meyer, 101, died Jan. 28, 2019, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with the Rev. Jeff Schanbacher officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, also at the church.
Memorials may be directed to: The Lutheran Hour, Lutheran World Relief, The Vinton Lutheran Home, LWML, Lutheran Bible Translators (Webers) or a charity of the donor's choosing.

Florence was born Oct. 3, 1917, in rural Watkins, to Adolph and Caroline (Bortz) Miller. She was baptized at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in rural Marengo on June 20, 1918. She was confirmed also at St. Martin's on March 20, 1932. On Feb. 4, 1940, Florence was united in marriage to Theophil Meyer Jr., also at St. Martin's. He preceded her in death in 1997. She and her husband farmed southeast of Blairstown side by side for many years. Florence was a faithful and longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown.
She is survived by her children, Carl (Betty) Meyer of Marengo, Loretta Vogt of Blairstown, Walter (Bonnie) Meyer of Cedar Rapids, Eileen (Gerald) Kreutner of Vinton and Alfred (Elaine) Meyer of Hoyleton, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Duane Vogt; and grandson-in-law, George Surface.
