Wiebold, Gordon H.
Gordon H. Wiebold, 87, died Oct. 2, 2009, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown, with the Rev. David Rempfer officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. Visitation also will be held at the church in Blairstown from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Gordon was born Jan. 7, 1922, at Good Thunder, Minn., to Edward and Anna (Furler) Wiebold. Gordon had been a resident of Blairstown since the age of 16. On Aug. 16, 1942, he was united in marriage to Lillian Heitshusen at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2007. Gordon was a lifelong farmer before his retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and in his leisure he loved fishing.
He is survived by his son, Garth Wiebold of Blairstown.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lillian, he was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
