Darlene Marie Hepker, 78, of Center Point, passed away Oct. 19, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Funeral service: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the funeral home. Burial: Troy Mills.
Darlene was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Benton County, Iowa, to Paul and Norma (Albones) Rick. She graduated from Urbana High School. Darlene married Merwyn Hepker on May 10, 1956, in Urbana. She worked at Rockwell for 34 years as a utility foreman before retiring in 1994.
Darlene loved to camp, crochet, dance, sing karaoke, and go on trail rides. She loved animals and especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Darla Arbuckle (Rick Nelson) of Cedar Rapids; sons, Myran "Mike" Hepker of Center Point and Myland (Deb) Hepker of Rowley; sister, Marilyn Reynolds of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Keith (Ann) Rick of Spirit Lake and Gary Rick of Marion; five grandchildren, Coti (Ty) Brown, Michael Hepker, Jaclyn Hepker, Ashley Hepker and Garrett Hepker; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Merwyn.
