Frasher, LaVonne 'Bonnie'
LaVonne “Bonnie” Frasher, 75, of 2410 Kelly St. SW, Cedar Rapids, died following complications from pneumonia on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. The Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors of Bonnie include her sons, Robert Frasher Jr. of Cedar Rapids and Rick (Pam Haas) Frasher of Manchester; siblings, Michael (Patricia) McKenna of Tennessee, Patrick McKenna of California, John McKenna of Colorado, Lana Homewood of Cedar Rapids and Linda (Terry) Lewis of Monticello; son-in-law, Bruce Miller of Florida; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, T.J.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her former husband of 35 years, Robert Sr.; companion, David “Red” Hedin; her parents, John and Goldie McKenna; a daughter, Kathleen Miller; a son, Daniel; and sister-in-law, Cyndee McKenna.
Bonnie was born April 15, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of John and Goldie (Ross) McKenna. She had a green thumb and enjoyed animals of all kinds.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Humane Society.
A special thanks goes to the nurses, doctors and staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for the great care given to Bonnie during her illness.
