Kruse, Bonnie Jean Hamman
Bonnie Jean Hamman Kruse, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Phillips Funeral Home, 108 Fremont St., Blairstown, with the Rev. Dick Ernst officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Blairstown.
Bonnie Jean Hamman was born Oct. 9, 1926, the daughter of Clifford Earl and Norma (Dolge) Hamman at Blairstown. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids with the class of 1944. Bonnie was united in marriage to Richard Kruse in 1947 in Cedar Rapids.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids and the accounting department for the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Bonnie also worked as a night school coordinator for Kirkwood Community College.
Bonnie was very active at Indian Creek Nature Center and enjoyed taking bus trips.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kerrie (Dennis) Haerther of Atkins and Kathie (Scott) Mullin of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Jessica, Brittanie and Joshua Haerther and Carrie (Jeremy) Farmer; and two great- grandchildren, Kyleigh and Owen Farmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister, Carol.
A memorial fund has been established.
