Yvonne B. "Bonnie" Huckins, 80, of Ryan, Iowa, formerly of Oelwein, died Saturday, July 14, 2018. Visitation: 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018,
at Alice United Methodist Church, Center Point, Iowa, with a funeral service to follow at 5:30 p.m. Burial: Alice Cemetery, Center Point.
Yvonne was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Alburnett, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Jennie (Auen) Christensen. She was a graduate of Alburnett High School. On Sept. 7, 1956, Bonnie married Dale Huckins at Alice United Methodist Church in Center Point, Iowa. She was a former cook at restaurants in Cedar Rapids and Oelwein. Bonnie enjoyed playing piano, embroidery, word puzzles, watching RFD and ice skating, feeding and watching birds, and cheering for the Hawkeyes. Bonnie was blessed with many good friends and loved spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Sandy (Don) Redenbaugh of Ryan, Bruce (Ronda) Huckins of Maynard, Robert (Tamara) Huckins of Walker, and Jenny Penrod (Scott McBurney) of Cedar Rapids; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Christensen of Central City.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dale.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Estates for the wonderful care shown to Bonnie.
