Eighth annual Fire Bowl takes place Sept. 16

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Eighth Annual Cedar Rapids Fire Department Fire Bowl takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Volleys on Blairs Ferry, 265 Blairs Ferry Road NE, Cedar Rapids.
The Fire Bowl is a charity 6 vs. 6 volleyball tournament.
This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Cedar Rapids Police Protective Charity to support the Santa Cop event in December. Santa Cop allows underprivileged children to go shopping with a Cedar Rapids police officer for winter necessities.
The public is invited to put together a team to compete in the Fire Bowl. Co-ed teams are not required. Each team is guaranteed four matches.
The team fee is $150.
