Sprecher, Beryl Mildred
Beryl Mildred Sprecher, 94, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 20, 2010. Honoring Beryl's wishes, she was cremated and no funeral services will be held. Arrangements and inurnment are with Cedar Memorial Funeral Park Funeral Home.
Beryl was born on June 6, 1916, to Paul and Bessie Walterick in Fort Dodge. She married Franz Sprecher in 1936. They had two children and lived in California while “Spreck” was in the Navy, later moving to Fort Dodge and settling in Cedar Rapids in 1954. They moved to Village Place, a retirement center in Marion. in 1997. Since 2007, Beryl resided at Evergreen Estates III in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed traveling and crafts. She was an avid reader and loved being a homemaker.
Beryl is survived by her, son Denny (Bernie) of South Jordan, Utah; her daughter, Diane Schmidt of Hiawatha; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Warren of Marion; a brother, Don (Dorothy) Walterick of Medford, Ore.; and beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Dina; and sister, Betty.
Beryl's family thanks Evergreen Estates III for their loving care and are also thankful for the support of the Hospice of Mercy.
