Beryl June Wardell, 90, of Oelwein, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein.
Beryl was born June 2, 1923, on the family farm in Fayette County, to parents Vernon and Jesse Maud (Gerken) Dibble. She graduated from the Hazleton High School in 1941.
Beryl was united in marriage to Eldon Wardell on Aug. 15, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She enjoyed her family and the time she could spend with them. She also had many friends and they will all miss her dearly.
Beryl is survived by her husband, Eldon; son, Tom Wardell of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Derek (Candice) Wardell of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Kristin (Tony) Paul of Hiawatha; seven great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Keaton, Braeton, Lillie, Kadon, Tanner and Lanai; and nieces and nephews.
Beryl was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Maude; and her brothers, Frank, John, Lawrence and Fay.
