Alice Laura Lenz was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Lone Tree, the daughter of George and Laura (Feldman) Lenz. She attended schools in Lone Tree, graduating from Lone Tree High School in 1949. She was married to Victor G. Greazel in 1950. Later she married Paul W. Wade in 1967. For over 25 years, she was employed as a nursing technician at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.
She enjoyed her gardening and baking, leading her and her husband, Paul, to organize the Coralville Farmers Market, where she shared her vegetables and baked items with the lucky souls that bought them.
She was an avid reader, a more than casual visitor to the casino, and particularly enjoyed time at the Quad Cities casinos with her sister-in-law, Winefred, but mostly she loved her family, especially the tradition of the Sunday dinners, where most of the family still gathered. She also loved watching sports, especially the Hawkeyes, Cubs and the Miami Heat.
Her family includes her partner, Freddie Clark; children, Dean Greazel, LuAnn Stewart (Steve) and Jeanne Guthmiller (Fred Clark); stepchildren, Beverly Palmer, Karen Long (Robert), Sharon Hanson, Connie Fountain (Joe) and Curtis Wade; grandchildren, Kelli Auger (Aaron), Justin Rundell (Christine), Tiffany McGregor (Ray) and Tanya Guthmiller; 12 great-grandchildren, Tharian, Myron, Aarlynn, Arianna, Jaxon, Lauren, Emily, Shian, Connor, Avery, Brenden and Mya; and Alice's sister, Mary Wieland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Victor Greazel and Paul Wade; brother, Kenneth Lenz; a niece and two nephews.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for her family and services.
