CEDAR RAPIDS – A building eligible for the National Register of Historic Places will be moved beginning Wednesday, April 20, to make way for the Physicians' Clinic of Iowa medical mall.
The 1906 stucco home-turned-office at 1113 Second Ave. SE is the last building to be removed before work begins on what PCI announced Tuesday will be called Physicians' Clinic of Iowa Medical Pavilion.
Starting about 11 a.m., a crew from Ron Holland Housemoving of Forest City will move the building about 50 feet south to a parking lot; a holding place until utility wires can be moved and streets temporarily closed in about a week to 10 days. Greg Fowler, president of Northcreek Management in West Branch, said at that time, the building will be moved to a lot at 616 Fourth Ave. SE.
Northcreek is overseeing work for Green Development of Iowa City, which is having the building moved to lease as office space.
