Congress has power to stop the madness

The acceptance of money from the National Rifle Association is an unforgivable act, and I firmly believe legislators who accept that money need to be voted out of office.
As much as I dislike using the president's campaign slogan, we can make America great again by putting our kids and people first and guns second. Until then, we always will be second rate.
Our members of Congress have the power to change our broken system with a vote to decrease access to guns. They have the power to prevent another Columbine, another Sandy Hook, another Marjory Stoneman Douglas. What will it take? Will it take a school shooting in Iowa? One at the university I attend? Sandy Hook happened five years ago. That's five years without those children. Five years in which we could have done something to prevent senseless deaths.
I am sick of it. Iowans are sick of it. If our legislators don't stop the madness and return the money soaked in the blood of children all across the country, I can promise you that I will do everything in my power to change our representation in D.C.
