Mary Naomi Bozanek, 97, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Hallmar at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary N. Bozanek was born April 29, 1919, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, the daughter of Frank G. and Elva (Meyers) Anderson. She
was united in marriage to Francis F.
Bozanek on Nov. 24, 1938, in Bertram, Iowa. Mary was a homemaker. She most enjoyed the time spent with her beloved family and friends. Mary was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Mary was a deacon at Olivet Presbyterian Church and a member of Kings Daughters and Sons. She also loved to garden and enjoyed tending to her flower beds.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn (Robert) Siechert and Francis M. (Kristen) Bozanek, both of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Robyn Woodard, Rebecca (James M.) Cunningham, Rachelle Siechert, Steven M. (Lori) Bozanek and Shelly A. (Rick) Roman; nine great-grandchildren, Robert, Dustin, Brandon, Dalton, Erin, Jacob, Amber, Ashley and Logan; and two great-great grandchildren, Alaina and Aubrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis F. Bozanek; and six siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Olivet Presbyterian Church or Bertram United Methodist Church.
