Blangy, Jerryd R. D.
Jerryd R. D. Blangy, 13, of Fairfax, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bob Westfall. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the funeral home. Burial: Fairfax Cemetery, Fairfax.
Survivors include his parents, Robert Jr. and Mary Blangy; brother, Luke S. A. Blangy; maternal grandfather, “Pappa” Daryl Kern of Marion; his pets, Babe, Benny, Tinkerbell and Miley; aunts, Shannon, Jacqueline, Bethanie, Natalie and Jeanne; uncles, Daniel, Kelly, Tony, Josh, Brandon and Poko; cousins, Carina, Valerie, Lilly and Gwendolyn; and visiting nurses, Krista, Cathy and Dave.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gwendolen Kern; and paternal grandfather, Robert A. Blangy.
Jerryd was born April 3, 1999, the son of Robert Jr. and Mary (Kern) Blangy, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was in the sixth grade through the Marion Home School Assistance Program.
Jerryd loved to draw and was quite the gamer, especially with X-Box. He fulfilled his Make-A Wish in April 2011, with Miley Cyrus.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Jerryd.
