CURTIS PARMENTER
Cedar Rapids
Curtis Alan Parmenter, 50, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital from a heart attack.
Curt was born Sept. 9, 1963, to Viola M. (Meade) and Donald C. Parmenter of Anamosa and spent his formative years in that area. Growing up, he most enjoyed spending time at his beloved Uncle Bud's farm (Leslie and Yvonne Meade of Onslow, Iowa); they both loved Curt dearly and he always fondly recalled playing in Sand Ditch and jumping off Porkchop Hill; so it is here where his ashes will be lovingly placed.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy; and daughter, Jessica, whom he loved.
He is survived by two brothers, Gary and Craig; and two sisters, Vicky and Debbie.
He is also survived by his closest family and spiritual sisters, Valerie (Randy) Chamberlin, Lisa (Bill) Miller and Lori (Brian) Buczek, who will all miss him deeply; as will his close friends, Bob, Susan and Tesha Dobling and Kathleen May; his many friends and supporters at AA; and his brothers and sisters in Christ from New Life Community Church.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at New Life Community Church, 275 W. 29th Ave., Marion.
No flowers please, but donations in Curt's name can be made to New Life Community Church.
