Westen, Timothy J.
Timothy J. Westen, 46, of Coralville, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at River Community Church in Iowa City. Burial will be in Washington, Iowa at the city cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.
Timothy Joseph Westen was born Oct. 5, 1963, in Iowa City, the son of Wilbur E. and Patricia A. (Nelson) Westen. He graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1983. He had been employed by Domino's Pizza and Midwest Janitorial. Tim lived for all holidays, enjoyed collecting anything to do with M&M's, and in his youth was involved in Cub Scouts.
His family includes his mother, Patricia Edwards of Coralville; brothers, Jerry Westen (Korie) of Solon and Daniel Westen (Susan) of Iowa City; nephews and nieces, Matthew Westen, Michael Westen, Derek (Amanda) Westen, Travis Westen (fiancee Jessica) and Amanda Ramirez (Ruben); great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaleb, Faith, Rosalina, Ruby, Drake, Elijah and Daniel; five aunts and one uncle.
Tim was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Roy and Irene Nelson and George and Georgia Westen; three uncles and two aunts.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tim's memory.
