Phouthone "Pooh" Senephimmachak, 56, of
Iowa City, died Sunday morning, June 22, 2014, at home, following complications of liver cancer. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, and after 11 a.m. Saturday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Services will begin at noon Saturday, June 28, at the funeral home.
Pooh was born Oct. 1, 1957, in Pakse, Laos. He worked as a finisher for IAC (formerly Sheller Globe Corp.) for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mithing "Mickey," 52; his two daughters, Lai Senephimmachak, 34, and husband Tim Lovan, 30, and Janny Ramirez-Senephimmachak, 30, and husband Jose Gumaro Ramirez Cruz, 33; grandchildren, Jaylen Lovan, 11, Layla Lovan, 7, and Elijah Quito Ramirez-Senephimmachak, 2; and stepgrandchildren, Raphael Jose Ramirez, 14, Cruz
Miguel Ramirez, 12, and Isabel Angelia Ramirez, 9.
He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Senephimmachak, who passed on June 14, 1997, at the age of 15.
