Developers of a 176-unit senior living project southwest of First Avenue and Collins Road NE in Cedar Rapids plan to start construction in the fall.
Ryan Companies US and Grand Living of Excelsior, Minn., on Thursday announced plans for Grand Living at Indian Creek, a four-story development that will include residences ranging from studios to two-bedroom den apartment homes and offer a mix of independent, assisted living and memory care services.
Grand Living, which will begin construction in the fall on a similar senior living facility in Iowa City, said the Cedar Rapids project will offer a variety of dining and menu options in alternate settings including formal dining, casual dining, a bistro and clubroom.
A wellness center and spa will feature a full-service salon, exercise studio and offices for rotating medical providers. Additional amenities include a grand lounge and library, performance theater for the arts, music and lifelong learning programs, a chapel, activity and art studios, woodworking shop and studio, pet grooming center and instrumental practice rooms.
'Grand Living is led by a diverse and accomplished senior leadership team that has worked closely together for over 25 years,” said Dan Peterka, president and CEO of Grand Living, in a news release.
Ryan Companies is a builder, developer, designer, capital investment consultant and real estate manager. The Minneapolis company has 11 regional offices, including in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.
'We have been working with city staff on development concepts,” said Eric Anderson, Ryan vice president of development, senior living, in a news release. 'The site offers great visibility, access and convenience, which will be a great advantage to our residents and their families.”
