Christopher "Fer" Railsback, 30, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Bob Gaston officiating. Friends may register at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until service time. Private committal services will be held.
Christopher was born Jan. 16, 1987, in Cedar Rapids, to Steve and Ronda (Buchtela) Railsback. He was employed as an installer at Carpets Plus in Cedar Rapids and loved to play pool.
He is survived by his fiancee, Jamie Freeman of Fairfax; his children, Jaylyn and Tristin Railsback of Fairfax; his mother, Ronda Buchtela of Vinton; his father, Steve Railsback of Palo; his brothers, Ryan Scott Buchtela of Vinton and Brandon Lewis Railsback of Vinton; and his sister, Cheyenne Railsback of Palo.
