KCRG.com reported last night that red-shirt freshman John Lickliter is transferring to Division III Marian (Ind.) University, which is located in Indianapolis.
Lickliter, son of former Iowa Coach Todd Lickliter, played in 21 games as a walk-on for Iowa and averaged 1.9 points a game. He had 15 assists to 11 steals.
Garrett Lickliter, John's older brother and a graduate assistant this year, played college basketball at Marian. Iowa played Marian in an exhibition in November, and Marian Coach John Grimes is good friends with Todd Lickliter.
