Thomas Hazle, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away March 13, 2015, after a short battle with lung cancer. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, March 21, at 248 32nd St. NW, Cedar Rapids, with open house from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. Service and military honors start at 1 p.m.
Tom was born April 2, 1952, in Ionia, Mich., the son of Richard and Barbara Hazle. Tom served in the United States Army and fought for our country in the Vietnam War. He married Judith Hazle on July 20, 1973, in Garden Grove, Calif. They lived the majority of their marriage in Aurora, Colo., before moving to Iowa 17 years ago.
Tom is survived by his wife, Judy; their two dogs, Tonka and Gretchen; and their four children, Lori Hillius, Jason Hazle (Sara), Jodi Hazle of Cedar Rapids and Holli Herdegen (Dan) of Lochbuie, Colo. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Kallie, Zeke and Isaac; his father, Richard Hazle; and siblings, Laura Smith, Nancy Hazle (Phil), Judy Hazle, Randy Hazle (Sherry) and Chris Hazle (Judy).
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.
