5,000 buy tickets for new Megabus.com Iowa route

Megabus.com has sold 5,000 tickets in Iowa prior to the launch Tuesday, May 4, of its low-fare intercity bus service between Des Moines, Iowa City and Chicago.
The first arrival and departure of a Megabus.com route will be between 11:50 a.m. and 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in Iowa City at South Dubuque and East Court streets.
Megabus.com announced plans for the low-fare service on April 13. In addition to the Iowa locations, it rolled out service between Pittsburgh and State College, Penn.
The intercity fares are as low as $1, but the company urges customers to book early to secure the lowest fares.
