White questionable with stinger

IOWA CITY - Iowa senior forward Aaron White remains questionable for Saturday's game against Wisconsin after suffering a stinger two days ago at Purdue.
White, who is Iowa's leading scorer and rebounder, played only seven minutes after colliding with Purdue's Kendall Stephens barely four minutes into the game. He went to the bench and returned for a few minutes of action before sitting out for good.
'He's still sore,” Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery said Monday morning. 'I think what's going to happen is he's been seen by our doctors, and he's been getting treatment. He won't do anything. He'll be re-evaluated Wednesday morning, and we'll see where he is then. Right now it's day-to-day and continuous treatment.”
Iowa led 10-6 when White was injured. The Hawkeyes lost 67-63 to fall to 13-7 overall and 4-3 in Big Ten play.
McCaffery said he's never seen a stinger as a basketball coach. But athletics department doctors, who have diagnosed stingers suffered on the football field, have looked over White.
'They know what they're looking at,” McCaffery said. 'Brad Floy has seen them before, our trainer, I've just never seen one. Usually it's collarbone or separated shoulder when there's a collision like that. Like I said, the good thing is, there's nothing broken, there's nothing out of place, it's just inflammation. Buy very painful.”
Iowa plays host to Big Ten leader Wisconsin (18-2, 6-1 Big Ten) at 11 a.m. Saturday.
