Iowa-Purdue football tickets selling for $2

Aug. 25, 2013 7:52 pm
What is this, 1924?
If you just want to get into Ross-Ade Stadium on Nov. 9 for the Iowa-Purdue football game, you can get a couple of tickets for cheap. For real cheap.
As of 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, you could get a pair of tickets in the South Stand (end zone) for $2 apiece at Stubhub.
If those aren't to your liking, there are plenty more South Stand ducats for $3, $4, $5. They won't be great seats. But who knows? If Purdue has a crowd rivaling its 2012 average of 43,588. maybe you can work your way into a better seat.
Those South Stand seats must be lousy. The cheapest seats that aren't in either end zone are in the West stands, for $32.
By contrast, the cheapest seats Stubhub had for Saturday's Northern Illinois-Iowa game Saturday in Kinnick Stadium were $55, and they were in the north end zone.
And nothing on Stubhub (again, as of 7:30 p.m., Sunday) was cheaper than $165 for the Sept. 14 Iowa-Iowa State game in Ames, and those were hillside general admission.
Who would pay $165 for hillside general admission for any football game? I know such people exist, but who are they? I want complete psychological profiles, and pronto!
And why would anyone bother selling tickets to anything on Stubhub for $2 each?
