Roy Alan Fischer, 70, of Palo, died Saturday, April 1, 2017, in Cedar Rapids.
Celebration of Life will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Hilltop Manor, 439 Lindale Dr., Marion, IA 52302.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Fischer; daughter, Kelly Mathis (Doug) of Cedar Rapids; a son, Kevin Fischer (Anne) of Gillette, Wyo.; sisters, Louella Smith and Beverly Meyer; grandchildren, Brandon Hall (Jessica), Kayla Felix (Enrique), Tyler Mathis (Amber), Emma Mathis, Austin Fischer, Emily R. Fischer, Jonathon Witham, (Stephanie) Julianne Witham (Tanner), Jacob Witham (Cassidy), Joshua Witham, Megan Fischer and Emily G. Fischer; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Fischer; his father, Roy Fischer; and a sister, Evelyn Mennen.
Roy was born in Geneva, Iowa, and attended Ackley-Geneva schools. He was married to Linda for 51 years. Roy was employed most of his working life in the packing plant industry.

Roy's passions were fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Roy was not a stranger to anyone who had the opportunity to cross his path.
Roy will be remembered for his selfless giving and willingness to help anyone.
