Chansy Vongsavanh, 85, of Iowa City, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Lantern Park Specialty Care.
A traditional Buddhist ceremony will begin noon Sunday, May 13, 2018, at
Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.
Chansy was born in Laos on Jan. 1, 1933. She moved to Iowa City in 1981.
Chansy is survived by children, Aromsavath Phonphiboun of Newark,
Calif., Christina Norasinh of Ashburn, Va., Phaysavath Phonphiboun of Naples, Fla., Somsaveng Dinhvanh of Mannheim, Germany, Phaysavanh Phonphiboun of Newark, Calif., Somsavath Bounnakhom of St. Michael, Minn., Tina Phonphiboun of Newark, Calif., Soutsavanh Bitda of Hermitage, Tenn., Phonesanith Phonphiboun of Naples, Fla., and Phonesavanh Phonphiboun of Iowa City; three siblings; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Onechanh Phonphiboun in 2005; her parents; and two siblings.
