Two teenagers robbed a 90-year-old man in northwest Cedar Rapids Monday night, police said Tuesday.
Robert Guyer told officers he was cutting weeds in a yard at 1818 B Ave. NW about 6:30 p.m. Monday when two youths approached him. After Guyer turned off his weed trimmer, the pair struck him, grabbed his wallet from his pocket, and ran off.
Guyer wasn't able to follow the pair, but officers responding to his call located Cameron Butterfield, 16, and Dalton E. Davis, 17, about three blocks away.
Butterfield, of 245 21st St. NW, and Davis, of Bloomfield, Neb., were taken to the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center. They made initial court appearances Tuesday on one count each of second-degree robbery.
Guyer wasn't hurt in the robbery.
