Geraldine K. Blazek, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at Cottage Grove Place. Memorial services are at 11 a.m. on
Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; three daughters, Debra (Gary) Cooper of Marion, La Donna (Jim) Hackman of Solon and Colette (Todd) Miller of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Jason (Kelly) of Mount Vernon and Jeffrey of Marion; several half-brothers and -sisters; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Geraldine was born on Jan. 6, 1940, in Mount Auburn, the daughter of William and Charlotte Cole Turner. She married Robert W. Blazek on May 31, 1958, in Cedar Rapids.
Geraldine worked at Rockwell Collins for 40 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Geraldine enjoyed crocheting, sewing, Bible study, cooking, and especially the time spent with her beloved family. She forever will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
