Schulz, Dorothy J.
Dorothy J. Schulz, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, in her home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Asbury United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Willy Mafuta. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry K. Schulz; her daughter, Tami Schulz of Atlantic, Iowa; her siblings, Leona Abels of Santa Ana, Calif., Patricia (Fred) Schoning of Sheffield, Iowa, Jim (Carolyn) Crandall of Colorado, Springs, Colo., Bonnie (Owen) Bergland of Colorado, Springs, Colo., and Leonard (Rose) Crandall of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born July 19, 1944, in Franklin County, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Neva (Jones) Crandall. She married Jerry K. Schulz on Oct. 5, 1962, at Salem Methodist Church in Chapin, Iowa.
Dorothy had her own cleaning business. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was active as an usher, helped with Chada Pautz Fellowship, helped with funerals, Kids Club, and Bible School. She also was an avid reader.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all and will be greatly missed.
