Hazeltine, Gerald 'Jerry'
Gerald “Jerry” Hazeltine, 89, of Toddville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Woodlands at Meth-Wick Community, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Scott Kacere, a minister with McCloud Springs Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, will officiate. Visitation time will start at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Luella Hazeltine; his parents, Frank and Ella Hazeltine; four brothers; and twin sisters.
Jerry was born April 10, 1924, in Beloit, Wis., the son of Frank and Ella (Bush) Hazeltine. He married Luella Heath on Aug. 15, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. Jerry was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Quaker Oats in 1980 after 30 years of employment. After his retirement, Jerry enjoyed his work as a beekeeper.
He was a member of the McCloud Springs Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Meth-Wick Community.
