Beloit Snappers starting pitcher B.J. Hermsen of Masonville threw seven shutout innings Thursday night and picked up the win in his team's 3-2 Midwest League victory over Kane County at Beloit.
Hermsen, a former West Delaware all-stater, allowed only three hits and no walks, striking out three. It was the right-hander's second start since being promoted from Minnesota Twins extended spring training.
He has allowed just one run in those two starts, spanning 12 innings. Hermsen was a sixth-round draft pick of the Twins in 2008 and began his professional career last season.
