Rozinek, Ethel Mae
Ethel Mae Rozinek, 91, of rural West Branch, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14. at Brosh Chapel in Solon, with burial to follow in Morse Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
Ethel was born April 5, 1919, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Albert and Alice Wheeler Kabela. She married Joseph Rozinek on Sept. 22, 1938. Ethel "Little Raisin" and Joe "Big Raisin" farmed together in the Ely, Solon and West Branch area for many years. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, playing euchre, fishing, going gambling and spending time with her family.
Ethel is survived by her children, Albert (Charlene) Rozinek of West Branch, Robert "Bum" (Mary) Rozinek of Whittier, David "Butch" (Marcia) Rozinek of West Branch, Pauline "Baba" (Ed) Greazel of Iowa City, and Paul "Doc" (Kathleen) Rozinek of North Liberty; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; brothers, Roy Kabela and Phillip Kabela; sisters Anne Brogan, Mearl Kofron and Helen Tompkins; and two infant sisters, Millie and Leona.
