Tomberlin, Tawny Jo 'Bones'
Tawny Jo “Bones” Tomberlin, 43, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, in her home from gunshot wounds. A gathering will be at a later date when Dewey is discharged from the hospital and well enough to attend. Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, is helping the family.
Surviving Tawny are her sons, Matthew and Michael, and daughters, Sabrina and Cassie, all of Cedar Rapids; her siblings, Duane “Dewey” (Debbie) of Cedar Rapids, and Lisa Tomberlin; stepsiblings, Ricky (Priscilla) Smith and Candace Ribble, all of Cedar Rapids; one grandchild; eight nieces and nephews; three great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding Tawny in death were her parents, Duane Tomberlin and Mary Myers Smith.
Bones was born Jan. 27, 1966, in Hudson, Wis. She lived in Cedar Rapids most of her life. Tawny worked at Mr. G's Grocery Store in Marengo, and worked as a sandblaster in her spare time.
Tawny loved to spend time with her family.
Memorials in Tawny's honor will be used as a college fund for her children. They may be sent in care of Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, 715 10th Ave. SW, Mount Vernon, IA 52314.
