FAIRFAX - A 76-year-old Norway, Iowa, woman was killed Monday in a two-vehicle crash on Wright Brothers Boulevard between Walford and Fairfax.
Iowa State Patrol reports that Roberta Montague was killed when the 2015 Honda CRV she was driving collided with a 2006 Toyota Sienna driven by William Puetz, 36, of Cedar Rapids around 9:30 a.m.
Police said Puetz was traveling westbound on Wright Brothers Boulevard and drifted into the eastbound lanes where Montague was traveling. The vehicles collided head-on.
Puetz was determined to have not been wearing a seatbelt and was transported via Life Flight to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His condition has not been released.
Montague, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was transported by an area ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, but did not survive.
Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said the Sheriff's Office and Fairfax Fire Department also responded to the crash site.
Wright Brothers Boulevard was reopened to traffic between Highway 151 and St. Patricks Road at 1:12 p.m., according to the Sheriff's Office.
