Feb. 22, 2014 11:57 am
IOWA CITY -- Wisconsin rallied from a one-point deficit with 1 minute left to beat Iowa 79-74 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday.
The Hawkeyes led 72-71 on a Josh Oglesby jumper with 1 minute remaining. The No. 18 Badgers (22-6, 9-5) called a timeout, and Frank Kaminsky scored inside to put the Badgers ahead for good with 37 seconds left.
No. 15 Iowa (19-7, 8-5) had a chance to win late. After a timeout with 32.5 seconds left, Iowa's Devyn Marble drove the lane but was stripped before he could attempt a shot. Kaminsky recovered the ball, and immediately was fouled with 24.5 seconds left. He buried both free throws to boost the Badgers' lead to three points.
On Iowa's next trip up the court, Zach McCabe attempted a 3-pointer that fell shot. Traevon Jackson was fouled and boosted Wisconsin's lead to five points.
Marble and Kaminsky each scored 21 points. Marble also had 11 assists and four rebounds.
