Hip injury continues to hobble Cyclones’ Knott
Apr. 7, 2015 6:38 pm
Although he was listed at the top of the depth chart heading into spring, the latest health report on weak-side linebacker Luke Knott has shuffled the mix.
Iowa State Coach Paul Rhoads said Tuesday there was a setback with Knott's recovery from a hip injury.
The red-shirt junior initially suffered the injury in 2013, went through offseason surgery and played in all 12 games in 2014. Surgeons cleaned up scar tissue on Knott's hip following last season, but Rhoads said the setback this spring has caused surgeons to reevaluate Knott's health.
Rhoads said more information needed to be gathered, which could happen as early as today.
'Intelligent minds will give he and the family all the information and then we'll start making decisions from there,” Rhoads said. 'I think everything's on the table right now. He could start in 2015 or he could never play football again. I think it's all on the table.”
Levi Peters, Brian Mills, and Willie Harvey make up the depth chart at weak-side linebacker in Knott's absence.
