Steven H. Powers, 53, of Ely, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020. He was cremated at Murdoch Funeral Homes & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Private burial and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Steve did concrete work in his earlier years. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, playing his guitar and his tomato plants. If he had his last dollar and he saw a homeless person, he would give it to them. He had a heart of gold. He fought so hard to stay with us, but God needed him more. He is our hero!
He is survived by his parents, Harold and Zelda Powers of Quasqueton; sisters, Teresa (Todd) O'Connor of Atkins and Carrie (Bjay) Amthauer of Quasqueton; nieces, Taylor (Drew) Nickell and family of Blairstown and Tara O'Connor of Atkins; and good friend Dee Olson and family.
