Sandersfeld, Dennis Arnold

Dennis Arnold Sandersfeld was born July 5, 1936, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Amanda (Kleinmeyer) Sandersfeld. He married Lavonne Spiering on July 9, 1960, in Gaylord, Minn. Dennis died on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City from complications of cancer at the age of 75 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lavonne of Williamsburg; a sister, Audrey (Doug) Foubert of Deep River; sister-in-law, Charleen Reinke of Gaylord, Minn.; nephews, Scott (Stephanie) Foubert of Tracey, Calif., Jason (Rita) Foubert of Montezuma, Jeremy (Lisa) Foubert of Carlisle, and the Rev. John (Dacia) Reinke of Janesville, Wis.; a niece, Wanda (Jeff) Paine of Gaylord, Minn.; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister. Carole Rae Sandersfeld; an infant brother, Dean Sandersfeld; and a nephew, Nathan Foubert.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Pastor Michael Kolesar will officiate. Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.

A memorial fund has been established for the Lutheran Interparish School, Williamsburg Library and Iowa City Hospice.
