Crowe, Arnold D.
Arnold D. Crowe, 73, of Lowden, Iowa, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Dennis & Donna Older House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence, with Father William Kneemiller officiating. Burial will be at Lowden Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence and from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Bettie; son, Quentin (Elaine) of North Branch, Minn.; daughter, Dee Schroeder of Stanwood; grandchildren, Kayli and Kyle Crowe, and Andrew and Amy Schroeder; great-grandchild, Trey Johnson; brother, Harold Crowe of Maryland; and sisters, Alberta of Oskaloosa, Marlene of Winterset, and Joan of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn; and brother, Maurice.
Arnold was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Birmingham, Iowa, to Albert and Avis (Pickeral) Crowe. He married Bettie Allen on Jan. 9, 1962, in Sigourney, Iowa.
Arnold loved trucking and helping friends farm during harvest time. Boating, camping and water skiing were the core of his life up until the mid '90s. He was very attached to his dogs, would help complete strangers and had a great personality.
