An example of wasteful government spending
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 27, 2011 9:22 am
When I was 65, I had to go on Medicare Part A and since I was not drawing Social Security, I set up the automatic premium payment plan through my bank, which is working fine. However, each month I receive a “Notice of Medicare Premium Payment” due notice. I have written at least five times to Medicare, to no avail, explaining that the private industry does not send a monthly notice reminder for insurance or investment that are being paid by auto deduction, so why is our government wasting taxpayer money sending it to who knows how many thousands of individuals?
I do not object to paying taxes; rather, I object to how our government spends those dollars. Private industry cannot afford this waste, nor can our government.
