DES MOINES - State Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Red Oak, is getting more outside help from a big-name Republican in her bid to land her party's 2014 U.S. Senate nomination in Tuesday's primary election.
On Friday, former 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney campaigned in Iowa on Ernst's behalf. On Monday, it will be prospective 2016 GOP presidential hopeful Marco Rubio, a U.S. senator from Florida, who will rally her supporters heading into Iowa's five-way primary battle.
Rubio, who endorsed Ernst in early May, will make a stop at her campaign headquarters in Urbandale, Ernst's campaign announced Saturday.
