Letter: Republicans cannot justify transition cost

With all the budget cuts to this year, I am outraged that Republicans gave $150,000 in taxpayer money for the 'transition” from Gov. Terry Branstad to Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds. She has been serving in his office for over six years.
With major budget cuts to higher education, agriculture, the environment, health care and funding for floods, how can Republicans possibly justify $150,000 for this long-planned-for 'transition?”
