High Amana
Linda Rosa Puegner, 103, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at Colonial Manor of Amana. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Middle Amana Church with Elders Kristie Yoder and Andrea Haldy officiating. Burial will be in High Amana Cemetery. Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society or the Amana Arts Guild. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Linda is survived by nieces and nephews, Brian (Holly) Zimpleman of Osage Beach, Mo., Charlotte (Gary) Heishman of Amana, Craig (Barbara) Puegner of Eden Prairie, Minn., Janet (Rich) Carlson of Bennington, Neb., and Sharon (Wade) Ramsey of Omaha, Neb.; and several grand and great-grandnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Edna Zimpleman and Otto Puegner.
Linda Rosa Puegner was born June 21, 1915, in High Amana, Iowa, the firstborn child of William Puegner and Henriette Ehrman Puegner. She attended school in High Amana. Linda was a loom operator for the Amana Woolen Mills her entire working career. She was a lifelong member of the Amana Church Society. Linda was one of the last surviving Amana members who worked in the communal kitchens, which ended in 1932. She enjoyed knitting, tatting, gardening and reading. She spent the last nine years residing with the Lakeview Estates and Colonial Manor community.
