MARILYN ROSE MATTHEWS

Marilyn Rose Matthews, 70, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Urbana, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7411 19th Ave., Blairstown, IA 52209. Feel free to bring a picture or a story to share, but please, no memorials or gifts.
Survivors include her children, Rod and Rick Andrews; brothers, Roger, Russell and Robin; sisters, Marlys, Mardi and Monica; and grandsons, Ryan, Samuel and Stephen.
Marilyn was born May 14, 1946, to Leo and Ardis (Schlotterback) Kramer, of Urbana, Iowa. While living in Iowa, Marilyn managed many bars and grills in Vinton, worked at Iowa Ham and Canning and owned and operated MJ's Bar in Urbana. She lived in Texas for many years and worked as a home health care provider for the disabled. Her Texas friends all knew her as "Mom."
She passed away in her home after a battle with cancer.
