Survivors include his wife, Lucille; children, Karen (Wacker) Jordt, Lester Wacker, Wayne Schuttler, Cindy Schuttler and Cherie Booth; brothers, Dale, Ray and Glen; sisters, Laura, Esther, Louise, Sally, Ruth and Alice; grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Andy, Kate, TJ, Megan and Dustin; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Sophie (Mueller) Wacker; brothers, James, Eldo, Ralph and Fred Wacker; and his ex-wife, June (Dumond) Wacker.
He was born May 6, 1938, in Monona to Andrew and Sophie (Mueller) Wacker. He married June Dumond in September 1960; they divorced in May 1987. He then married Lucile Schuttler in December 1988.
Paul was a simple man who worked very hard his entire life to provide for his family. He worked as a farmer, electrician, plumber and an all-around handy man. He worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids in the 1980s and moved to Perry in 1988, when he married Lucille. They worked together on the farm and at their business, Lou's Diner, in Woodward.
Paul and Lou's blended family were a great blessing to him. He was a wonderful man and a loving father.
Memorials may be sent to Bright Kavanagh Hospice House/HCI Care Services of Central Iowa.
