Frank M. Hendrickson, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Norma; his children, Timothy Hendrickson of Cedar Rapids and Heidi (Michael) Probasco of Camdenton, Mo.; and his sister, Nellie Klafurich of Pueblo, Calif. Also Nickolas Silkebakken of Newport Beach, Calif., and Anthony Silkebakken of Lake City, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Sandy Hendrickson; two sisters; and six brothers.
Frank was born March 30, 1924, in Bemidji, Minn., the son of Charles and Anna (Bailey) Hendrickson. He married Norma Louise Schueler on Jan. 25, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Frank was employed in engineering at Iowa Manufacturing for 34 years, retiring in 1986.
He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed reading and the daily crossword puzzle.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yacoub, Mercy Dialysis, Melanie with UnityPoint Home Care and Keystone Cedars for the care given to Frank.
