Peters is selfless and compassionate

I met Dr. Christopher Peters on Dec. 22, 2008 when he became my surgeon after I was admitted to Mercy hospital for a lung biopsy. He is very talented, intelligent and caring in his medical practice. But what most impressed me was that on Christmas morning, while most families were spending time at home, Chris, Julie and their three sons showed up at the hospital to sing carols to his patients. A person's character is shown through his actions and, on that day, Chris showed his true character of selflessness and compassion.
Since that day, I have learned of Chris's nine years of service in the U.S. Army. He loves Iowa and the people that make our state great, and he has been one of few to sign a pledge to support term limits for federal politicians, if elected.
It is truly time for change in the 2nd Congressional District, and Chris is the best candidate for the job. He understands Washington is at a standstill and that representatives willing to compromise, not just vote party lines, are our only hope of moving forward. I am pleased we have such a qualified candidate to support who will represent the voices of all of his constituents.
