Douglas Rosenbaum
DOUGLAS "DOUG" ROSENBAUM
Olin
Douglas "Doug" Dean Rosenbaum, 59, of Olin, transitioned from his earthly body to his heavenly soul on Friday, March 31, 2017, after an eight-month battle with cancer.
He was known by many friends as a caring and generous friend with an easy-going and great personality. He enjoyed his Williamsburg Manufacturing co-worker banters and sense(s) of
humor and always was willing to offer a caring ear and a helping hand and talk about sports (especially the Cubs)!
To his family, Doug was the greatest husband, son, father, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin (including in-law). He loved working outside in the yard, golfing, reading and the Chicago Cubs!
His greatest pride were his daughters and grandchildren. Grandpa Doug loved the friendly teasing between his love for the Cubs and his grandson's (Ryan) for the White Sox. He also treasured playfully teasing his sweet granddaughter (Krystal).
Doug was born Feb. 25, 1958, to his parents, Dean and Gail Rosenbaum (Sams) of Kouts, Ind. He was the eldest of the three Rosenbaum children Doug, Jeff and Pam (Cotton). Shortly after his high school graduation, he resided in Valparaiso (Valpo), Ind., after marrying Linda (Nutt) Rosenbaum, and together they had two beautiful daughters, Jill and Amanda.
Later in life, he married Paula (Simms) Rosenbaum and resided in Hebron, Ind., and ultimately moved to Olin, Iowa, which was his residence at death. Doug and Paula were blessed to have 14 years of marriage before his death.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Dean Rosenbaum, and his mother, Gail Rosenbaum (Sams).
Doug is survived by his current wife, Paula (Simms) Rosenbaum of Olin; daughters and grandchildren, Jill Rosenbaum (Ryan Lessard) and Amanda Urycki (Krystal), both of Valpo, Ind.; his siblings, Jeff (LeeAnna) Rosenbaum of Valpo and Pam Cotton of Portage, Ind.; along with his marital extended family and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Moeller Funeral Home (Valpo) on Saturday, April 15. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a brief service beginning at 1 p.m.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Ted and Lori Burr (Belle Plaine), Williamsburg Manufacturing co-workers (Williamsburg) and US Cellular co-workers (Marion).
