Sharon Louise Osborn, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life services will be at
10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will be at Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Brosh Chapel.
Sharon was born April 29, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lloyd and Ina (Miller) McAtee. She graduated from Solon High School, Class of 1962. Sharon was united in marriage to Edward J. Osborn on Sept. 21, 1963, at First Presbyterian Church near Ely. She worked at Collins Radio, Square D, and for the last 25 years at College Community Schools, retiring in 2006. The time spent with her family was very important, especially being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed going fishing, watching stock car races and occasionally visiting a casino.
Sharon is survived by her husband of more than 54 years, Edward; her children, Kelly (Mike) Macke of Oxford Junction, Karla (Ken) Cole of Fairfax and Kim McClean (Ryan) of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Matt, Nick, Kortney, Whitney, Shelby, Katelynn, Sheldon, Madison and Morgan; 10 great-grandchildren, Caidence, Natalie, Ella, Amy, Liam, Hannah, Charlotte, Brayden, Aria and Sadie; her sister and best friend, Rita McCartney of Center Point; three brothers, Jerry (Shirley) McAtee of Solon, Larry (Marge) McAtee of Lisbon and Duane (Anna) McAtee of Ely; her brothers-in-law, Bob (Irene) Osborn, Tim (Marcia) Osborn and Bill (Kathy) Osborn; her sisters-in-law, Deb Dunmore and Dorothy Murray; lifelong friends, Moe and Carol Moser; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her father- and mother-in-law; her brother, Gary McAtee; and a brother-in-law, Mark Dunmore.
